Introduced at the NBAA convention in October 2018, the Praetor 600 is a variant of Embraer’s Legacy 500, sharing the same fuselage and wings but with more range; it has a longer ventral fuel tank, larger Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans giving 7,528 lbf, and larger winglets than the Legacy. It also has Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion flight deck electronics, fly-by-wire technology and steep approach operation.
Praetor 600 flight testing began on 31 March, 2018. Certification was received from the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil in April 2019, and from EASA and the FAA by May. The first delivery, to a European customer, took place on 28 June, 2019.
The Praetor 600 can carry out non stop flights between London and New York, Miami and Sao Paulo and Dubai to London. It seats a maximum of 12 passengers in a cabin that has an altitude of 5,800 ft.
The name Praetor comes from Latin, meaning to lead the way.
